Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is Westlake Academy's Fourth in Last Five Outings

If North Dallas Adventist Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Westlake Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Maya Sonday. The Westlake Academy Blacksmiths blew past the North Dallas Adventist Academy Sentinel 45-15 on Friday thanks in part to Sonday, who went 9 of 16 en route to 20 points and five boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Westlake Academy's points.

Westlake Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for North Dallas Adventist Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Westlake Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-44 defeat against Takoma Academy on the 24th. North Dallas Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
