Football Game Preview: Electra Tigers vs. Seymour Panthers

The Electra Tigers will face off against the Seymour Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Electra has given up an average of 31 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Electra came up short against Petrolia on Friday, falling 36-14. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Seymour scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 56-42 to Haskell.

Electra will have to contain Demarcus Smith as he made an impact in Seymour's last game. He rushed for 102 yards and one score on only nine carries. Smith also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making five total tackles (2.0 for loss). SLADE TUCKER also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.

Seymour didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sam Dreyer and Jeramiah Fobbs.

Seymour's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Electra, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Electra didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Seymour when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 32-28 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Panthers' Brayden Loyd, who threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 125 yards and one TD on only 15 carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Tigers to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
