Softball Recap: Claiborne Takes a Loss

After flying high against Campbell County on Tuesday, Claiborne came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 14-4 to the Grainger Grizzlies on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Grizzlies recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Jacey Ferguson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Addison Vanhuss was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Claiborne's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Grainger, they pushed their record up to 15-18 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Claiborne will challenge Cumberland Gap at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Grainger, they will venture away from home to take on Sevier County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
