Basketball Game Preview: Southern Raiders vs. Diller-Odell Griffin

Southern and Diller-Odell are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Southern Raiders will head out on the road to challenge the Diller-Odell Griffin on Tuesday.

Last Monday, Southern came up short against Meridian and fell 44-33.

Meanwhile, Diller-Odell didn't have too much trouble with Freeman on Friday as they won 52-34.

Southern better keep an eye on Myleigh Weers. She was instrumental in Diller-Odell's win, putting up 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Weers has scored at least a third of Diller-Odell's points.

Diller-Odell has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.1 points per game. As for Southern, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Southern took a serious blow against Diller-Odell when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 67-29. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Southern was down 39-15.
