Basketball Recap: Gibson Southern Titans vs. Boonville Pioneers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Gibson Southern Titans walked away with it. They breezed by the Pioneers on the road to the tune of 78-35 on Saturday. Gibson Southern has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Gibson Southern to victory were Gabby Spink and Chloey Graham. Spink dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists, while Graham went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 1 assist. Graham is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nola Ravellette, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Gibson Southern has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. As for Boonville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-20 record this season.
Gibson Southern and the Hatchets will face off at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Washington comes in on four and the Titans on 13. Boonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
