Basketball Game Preview: Tri-Valley Scotties vs. New Philadelphia Quakers

The Tri-Valley Scotties will be taking part in a tournament against the New Philadelphia Quakers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-Valley will be strutting in after a win while New Philadelphia will be coming in after a loss.

Last Saturday, Tri-Valley strolled past New Lexington with points to spare, taking the game 54-36. Given the Scotties' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Panthers are ranked 448th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, New Philadelphia was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 41-40 to Lexington. The defeat continues a trend for the Quakers in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now lost four in a row.

New Philadelphia's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Tri-Valley, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3.

Tri-Valley came up short against New Philadelphia in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, falling 68-64. Can Tri-Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
