Baseball Recap: Lafayette Jefferson Takes a Loss

The home team had come away the winner the last six times Lafayette Jefferson and Western had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Bronchos took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Wednesday. The Bronchos were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Peyton Parker was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Lafayette Jefferson's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Western, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

Lafayette Jefferson and Western should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Bronchos (ranked 72nd) will meet Marion (ranked 336th) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Western will take on Twin Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (34 vs. 85).
