Recap: Port Neches-Groves Indians vs. Rouse Raiders
The Port Neches-Groves Indians had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-14 victory over Rouse. Port Neches-Groves is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Blair Chatagnier was on fire: he rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries. Chatagnier was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Isaiah Nguyen was another key contributor, rushing for 149 yards while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.
Port Neches-Groves pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.7 points per game. As for Rouse, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Port Neches-Groves will take on Lake Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Creek is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Rouse does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
