The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs made easy work of the New Richmond Lions on Saturday and carried off a 9-1 victory. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matches by six runs or more this season.

Christian Flowers made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one double.

In other batting news, Elam Faust was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Trevor Niehaus was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Lynchburg-Clay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for New Richmond, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-15.

Lynchburg-Clay has already played their next game, a 6-0 victory against Piketon on the 27th. As for New Richmond, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Indian Hill on the 28th.
