Basketball Recap: Bruce Randolph Comes Up Short

Bruce Randolph lost against Denver West on February 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bruce Randolph Grizzlies took a 34-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Denver West Cowboys. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Denver West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shukri Hussein led the charge by putting up eight points and 11 rebounds. Hussein is becoming a predictor of Denver West's success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 9-2 (and 4-7 when she doesn't). Alesha Munoz was another key player, scoring ten points and six rebounds.

Bruce Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Denver West, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Bruce Randolph will take on Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Denver West, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Thomas Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
