Basketball Recap: South Garner Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The South Garner Titans were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 49-48 to the Page Pirates. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South Garner lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brandon Bastian, who shot 64% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Chase Hardy was another key player, going 6-for-13 en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Page's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Robinson, who posted ten points and four blocks. Another player making a difference was Lucas Schwab, who had 11 points and seven boards.

South Garner now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Page, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. South Garner will venture away from home to face off against Middle Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 59.5 points per game this season. As for Page, they will head out to square off against West Forsyth at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
