The Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights will challenge the Barnesville Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wheeling Central Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 136 points over their last three contests.

On Friday, Wheeling Central Catholic took their game with ease, bagging a 41-8 victory over Perry Traditional Academy. Given the Maroon Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in West Virginia, while the Commodores are ranked 511th in Pennsylvania) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kade Koroneos produced another solid effort rushing for 107 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 107 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Nico Kusic, who threw for 162 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Wheeling Central Catholic's defense and their 7.5 sacks. In that department, Maddox Stillion was the leader with three.

Meanwhile, Barnesville didn't have quite enough to beat George Washington on Friday and fell 17-14. The matchup marked the Shamrocks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Wheeling Central Catholic pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.9 points on average over those games. As for Barnesville, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
