Soccer Game Preview: Loudoun Valley vs. Rock Ridge

The Loudoun Valley Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Rock Ridge Phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Loudoun Valley is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Loudoun Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Tuscarora and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Loudoun Valley have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Rock Ridge had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage on Monday, sneaking past 3-2.

Nina Rao and Jude Ramahi scored all three of Rock Ridge's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Rock Ridge's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-11. As for Loudoun Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-2.

Loudoun Valley took their victory against Rock Ridge when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 8-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
