Having struggled with six defeats in a row dating back to last season, Crisp County finally turned things around against Swainsboro last Friday. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 30-6 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Cougars had established a 21 point advantage.
Hagan Slimp went supernova for Crisp County, rushing for 105 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, while also throwing for 171 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes. The dominant performance gave Slimp a new career-high in rushing yards. A healthy portion of that aerial production (97 yards to be exact) went to Deshaun Fedd, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Crisp County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Tattnall County was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 31-9 to Savannah Country Day. That makes it the first time this season the Warriors have let down their home crowd.
Crisp County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Tattnall County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
