Baseball Game Preview: Garrard County Golden Lions vs. Estill County Engineers

The Garrard County Golden Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Estill County Engineers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Things were looking good for Garrard County after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Boyle County by a score of 3-2. The Golden Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, while Estill County put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Berea. The Engineers walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Pirates. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Engineers.

The result came thanks to Mason Raider's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bryce Drake, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Logan Friend was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Garrard County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Estill County, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Garrard County beat Estill County 6-1 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Lions since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
