Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hamilton

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hamilton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mt. Shasta Bears, sneaking past 2-1. While the Braves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Hamilton's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austin Studybaker, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win (which was Hamilton's third in a row) raised their record to 9-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Shasta, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Hamilton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Live Oak on the 27th. As for Mt. Shasta, they will head out to challenge Weed at 2:00 p.m. on the 4th.
