Football Recap: Myrtle Skates Past Potts Camp with Ease

Myrtle won the last time they faced Potts Camp and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hawks claimed a resounding 37-8 victory over the Cardinals. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Cardinals on their field since August 31, 2018.

A big part of Myrtle's win came down to the chemistry between Tucker Elliott and his top target Harlem McClendon. Elliott threw for 75 yards and two touchdowns while McClendon picked up 54 receiving yards and one score. McClendon showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 54 yards.

Myrtle has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 33.0 points this season. As for Potts Camp, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Myrtle will square off against Belmont at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Potts Camp, they will take on Thrasher at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
