Softball Recap: Governor Livingston's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Governor Livingston unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Columbia Cougars by a score of 4-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Highlanders of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Lily Sandholm was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Governor Livingston's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Columbia, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Coming up, Governor Livingston will square off against Scotch Plains-Fanwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Highlanders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Columbia, they will take on Nutley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
