Preview: Anthony Wildcats vs. Fort Hancock Mustangs
Anthony is 9-1 against Fort Hancock since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Anthony Wildcats' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Fort Hancock Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th. Fort Hancock took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Anthony, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Anthony was able to grind out a solid win over McCamey, taking the game 47-36.
Fort Hancock suffered their biggest loss since December 5, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 83-58 walloping at the hands of Wink. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Fort Hancock in their matchups with Wink: they've now lost three in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Emmanuel Herrera, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Hernandez, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Anthony has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Fort Hancock, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Anthony beat Fort Hancock 67-55 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Does Anthony have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fort Hancock turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
