Preview: Chazy Eagles vs. Indian Lake Central Indians
Having just played yesterday, the Chazy Eagles will get right back to it and host the Indian Lake Central Indians at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Chazy will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Even though Chazy has not done well against Keene Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Chazy took down Keene Central 46-27. Given Chazy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Keene Central is ranked 672nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chazy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Samantha Gonyo-Lafountain out in front who scored 11 points. Kassidy Turek was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake Central's game last Thursday was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 34-25 win over Lake Placid. The victory was just what Indian Lake Central needed coming off of a 50-26 loss in their prior contest.
Chazy's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Indian Lake Central, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Everything went Chazy's way against Indian Lake Central in their previous meeting back in January as Chazy made off with a 55-29 win. Will Chazy repeat their success, or does Indian Lake Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
