Basketball Recap: Harrison Takes a Loss

Harrison played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Lewis-Palmer Rangers 71-39. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Rangers are ranked 52nd).

When it comes to explaining why Harrison lost, don't look at Jason Love. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 10 en route to 12 points. That's the most points Love has posted since back in November of 2023. Jeilo Hamenyimana was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Lewis-Palmer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Lowe, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Lowe is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonas Miller, who posted 11 points along with five assists and three steals.

Harrison has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Lewis-Palmer, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.

Harrison has already played their next contest, a 64-54 defeat against Canon City on the 4th. As for Lewis-Palmer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-31 win against Air Academy on the 5th.
