Football Recap: Sierra Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sierra had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-8 to make it four. They were beaten by the Central Catholic Raiders 60-7. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Raiders are ranked 149th).

Jaysen Martinez threw for 120 yards and one TD. Blama Kamara was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards and one score.

As for Central Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points over those games.

Central Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Perino, who picked up 140 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Perino didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended one pass. Another back making a difference was Jonathan Fuentes, who rushed for 121 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries.

Sierra does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
