It's playoff time, and Lake Howell had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 18-0 victory over the Mainland Buccaneers on Tuesday. The Silverhawks' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last five contests.

Lake Howell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Marley Hamilton, Jules Anderson, and Gabriella Torres picked up one apiece. Anderson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Lake Howell is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.9 points on average over those games. As for Mainland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Lake Howell will face off against Oviedo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Silverhawks surely won't give up without a fight. Mainland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
