Soccer Game Preview: Northville vs. Oxford

The Northville Mustangs will head out to face off against the Oxford Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Oxford took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Northville, who comes in off a win.

Northville took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Novi 5-0. Given Northville's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Novi are ranked 140th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Oxford came up short against Notre Dame Prep on Wednesday and fell 3-1. Oxford have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those eight contests. As for Oxford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7-3.
