Basketball Game Preview: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears vs. Cedar Catholic Trojans

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge hasn't had much luck against Cedar Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears are taking a road trip to take on the Cedar Catholic Trojans at 7:45 p.m. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 56-34 to Elkhorn Valley. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gibson Roberts, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and six assists, and Tanner Thompson, who put up six points and five rebounds. Those six points gave Thompson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Korth, who had five points.

Meanwhile, Cedar Catholic didn't have too much trouble with Archbishop Bergan on Saturday as they won 66-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

Cedar Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge couldn't quite finish off Cedar Catholic when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 48-45. Can Laurel-Concord-Coleridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
