Softball Recap: Southwest Wins Going Away Against Coral Park

Southwest won the last time they faced Coral Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Southwest Eagles put the hurt on the Coral Park Rams with a sharp 19-2 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Shantell Valle was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ami Casteleiro, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Valle wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Southwest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win got Southwest back to even at 2-2. As for Coral Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Southwest will square off against Hialeah Gardens at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Coral Park, they will take on Reagan at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Park has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
