Carterville posted their biggest win since November 30, 2024 on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 47-22 margin over the Murphysboro Red Devils. The Lions pushed the score to 44-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils cut but never quite recovered from.

Carterville found their leader in sophomore Maya Toliver, who went 5 of 7 en route to 19 points and six boards. Adie Sykes was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Carterville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Carterville's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-13. As for Murphysboro, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
