Volleyball Recap: Casa Grande Comes Up Short

Casa Grande was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Petaluma Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Casa Grande took Petaluma into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-16, 24-26, 17-25, 15-6.

Casa Grande's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Petaluma, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Casa Grande is set to square off against their familiar foe Vintage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Petaluma will take on rival Justin-Siena at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
