Baseball Game Preview: Clover Park Timberwolves vs. Eatonville Cruisers

Clover Park hasn't had much luck against Eatonville recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Timberwolves are taking a road trip to take on the Cruisers at 4:00 p.m.

Clover Park lost 9-2 to Orting on Thursday.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Eatonville made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mount Tahoma on Friday. The Cruisers put the hurt on the Thunderbirds with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Cruisers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Colton Herbrand made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Eatonville: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Herbrand was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Waylon Berg, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Eatonville is 4-1 when Berg posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Blair Mims also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Eatonville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mount Tahoma struck out eight times.

Clover Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Eatonville, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Clover Park suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Eatonville when the teams last played back in March. Can the Timberwolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
