Baseball Recap: Sperry Takes a Loss

Sperry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Mannford. Sperry was not able to make up for their loss to Mannford from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Aaden Miller led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jake Blaylock, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Sperry's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mannford, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Looking ahead, Sperry will head out to face off against Kellyville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Kellyville will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Sperry surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mannford, they will take on North Rock Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
