Football Game Preview: Wake Prep Academy Guardians vs. Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers

The Wake Prep Academy Guardians will be playing at home against the Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wake Prep Academy's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 26-0 margin over Louisburg. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Guardians just coasted through the last quarter.

Kato Muhammad and Landyn Roberts were among the main playmakers for Wake Prep Academy as the former picked up 101 receiving yards and one score and the latter rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown. Muhammad was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 55 yards.

Meanwhile, Bartlett Yancey was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They secured a 34-30 W over Carver. The Buccaneers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

Wake Prep Academy better keep an eye on Keith Nunnally-Mayo. He was instrumental in Bartlett Yancey's win, throwing for 131 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 42 yards and one score.

Bartlett Yancey didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Carver to a completion percentage of just 35.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Nunnally-Mayo, Jeshua Garland, and Dalleon Johnson, who each logged one passes deflected. Bartlett Yancey wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 50%.

Wake Prep Academy's record is now 6-3. As for Bartlett Yancey, their record now sits at 3-7.
