Softball Recap: Garfield Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

Garfield got themselves on the board against Bell on Friday, but Bell never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Garfield got a massive performance out of Coco Priebe, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Priebe a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Valerie Valencia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Garfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Garfield has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Bell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Garfield will take on South East at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.81 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bell, they will venture away from home to challenge Legacy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
