Softball Recap: George C. Marshall Comes Up Short

George C. Marshall couldn't beat Yorktown on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Statesmen came up short against the Patriots, falling 17-7. The Statesmen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 7-4.

Lindsey Manifor was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

George C. Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Yorktown, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. George C. Marshall will take on Annandale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Yorktown, they will challenge Herndon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
