Basketball Recap: Brookstone Cougars vs. St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings
Brookstone played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings, falling 78-53. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Brookstone lost, don't look at Bo Christopher. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 en route to 17 points. Christopher continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Charlie Peak was another key player, putting up five points and five boards.
St. Anne-Pacelli found their leader in sophomore Michael Rowe, who went 10 of 13 on his way to 21 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Those four blocks set a new season-high mark for Rowe. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalien Bush, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and four steals.
Brookstone's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Brookstone will take on Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Calvary Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Brookstone surely won't give up without a fight. St. Anne-Pacelli has already played their next game, a 68-61 victory against Grovetown on the 20th.
