Preview: Osceola Bulldogs vs. Shelby-Rising City Huskies
Osceola and Shelby-Rising City are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Osceola Bulldogs will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Shelby-Rising City Huskies at 7:45 p.m. Osceola will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Friday, Osceola was fully in charge, breezing past Meridian 62-20 on the road. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for Osceola this season.
Kale Gustafson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. Gustafson is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 17 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kelby Neujahr, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Shelby-Rising City lost to Thayer Central at home by a decisive 55-37 margin on Tuesday. Shelby-Rising City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Osceola has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Shelby-Rising City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
Everything went Osceola's way against Shelby-Rising City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as Osceola made off with a 61-38 victory. Will Osceola repeat their success, or does Shelby-Rising City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
