Baseball Game Preview: Lamar Warriors vs. Cedarville Pirates

The Lamar Warriors will square off against the Cedarville Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Lamar might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-1 to Dardanelle, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Warriors have struggled against the Sand Lizards recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Cedarville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Paris, falling 19-6.

Justice Workman was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lane Garner, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Cedarville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Lamar's way against Cedarville in their previous meeting back in April of 2018, as Lamar made off with a 15-5 victory. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
