Sandpoint and Lakeland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Sandpoint Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Lakeland Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-27, which was the final score in Sandpoint's tilt against Lake City on Wednesday. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Lakeland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Tuesday as they fell 68-62 to Post Falls. The Hawks have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lakeland now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Sandpoint, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Sandpoint came out on top in a nail-biter against Lakeland in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 51-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sandpoint since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
