Sidarius Berrium's must-see dunk over teammate

Together with Intersport, MaxPreps is selecting the participants for this year's 2012 American Family Insurance National High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships that airs Sunday, April 1 from New Orleans on CBS.

It will feature the nation's elite dunkers and 3-point shooters from the men's and women's game. A total of eight athletes will compete in each event.

But the fans will select one participant from each event. Should West Gadsden's (Greensboro, Fla.) Sidarius Berrium be selected to dunk? Check it out


If you would like a chance to compete, here are some more details:

To nominate a player, post to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/HighSchoolSlam) by Feb. 13. You must include a YouTube video to be eligible.

The top 16 video submissions for each event - dunkers, men's 3-point shooters and women's 3-point shooters - will face off in a bracket-style voting competition beginning Feb. 20. One roster spot will be granted for each competition, sending three (3) total athletes to compete in New Orleans on Final Four weekend:



One (1) slam dunk contestant
One (1) male 3-point shooting contestant
One (1) female 3-point shooting contestant

A player may enter more than one competition, but must submit a separate video for each competition.

The winners are wholly determined by fan voting, so it's up to you and your fans to spread the word!

Winners will be announced by mid-March and will travel to New Orleans March 29 – April 1 to compete in the American Family Insurance National High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships Final Four weekend, airing on CBS.
