Flag Football Recap: Belleville West Comes Up Short

Belleville West came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Edwardsville Tigers, falling 28-0. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois flag football rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Tigers are ranked 16th).

The critical scores for Edwardsville came from Sophie Shapiro, Lily Rynders, Audrey De La Torre Cruz, and Victoria White.

Belleville West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Edwardsville, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Coincidentally, Belleville West and Edwardsville will both be playing East St. Louis the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Flyers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Maroons will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
