Baseball Recap: Port Huron Northern Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Port Huron Northern can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They never let the Port Huron Red Hawks get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Taylor Falls made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Port Huron Northern is 2-1 when Falls posts eight or more strikeouts, but 0-6 otherwise. Falls was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season.

In other batting news, Ty Fletcher was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Owen Hill was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Port Huron Northern was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Port Huron Northern's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Port Huron, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
