Volleyball Recap: Cleveland Starts Season with Win Against Albuquerque + How To Watch

Cleveland gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Albuquerque Bulldogs as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

While Cleveland won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-20, 25-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cleveland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Molly Maurer, who had 20 assists and ten digs. Maurer is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 20 or more in each of the last 24 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Aspen Maxey, who had ten digs and three assists.

Cleveland was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Albuquerque's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cleveland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Los Lunas on the 28th. As for Albuquerque, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Sandia on the 28th.
