Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maggie Walker.

Despite the defeat, Cristo Rey saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jemell Smith posted 11 points. Evan July III was another key player, putting up five points.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Maggie Walker, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Cristo Rey will square off against St. Christopher's at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Maggie Walker, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 76-55 defeat against Mechanicsville on the 6th.
