Basketball Game Preview: Rockport Vikings vs. Ipswich Tigers

The Rockport Vikings just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Ipswich Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Rockport's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Ipswich's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Rockport is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 2, 2025 on Wednesday. They lost 50-24 to Collegiate Charter School of Lowell. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Vikings' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ipswich). They claimed a resounding 68-35 victory over Notre Dame Cristo Rey. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

This is the second loss in a row for Rockport and nudges their season record down to 7-3. As for Ipswich, the victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-4.

Rockport strolled past Ipswich in their previous meeting back in December of 2025 by a score of 42-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
