Agawam hasn't had much luck against Hampshire Regional recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Brownies will take on the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Agawam 4, Hampshire Regional 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Agawam took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over West Springfield.

Avery Gordon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Madison Georgina was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

Meanwhile, Hampshire Regional put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Easthampton/Hampshire get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Rachael Hickox was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hickox was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Caelyn Thayor was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chelsea Vanasse, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Hampshire Regional's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Agawam, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both Agawam and Hampshire Regional just can't seem to miss. The Brownies have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Hampshire Regional struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Agawam couldn't quite finish off Hampshire Regional in their previous matchup on April 4th and fell 4-2. Can the Brownies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
