Baseball Game Preview: St. Marys Blue Devils vs. Poca Dots

The St. Marys Blue Devils will face off against the Poca Dots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Marys is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

St. Marys fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South Harrison on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 7-6. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Casey Burkhammer stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Marys has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Poca struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
