Softball Recap: McCutcheon Victorious

McCutcheon's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mavericks considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Sydney Neumayr, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashtyn Strimel, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

McCutcheon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 6-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

McCutcheon's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.
