Soccer Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

Southwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Carlinville Cavaliers, falling 7-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Southwestern of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 3-9-1. As for Carlinville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Southwestern and Carlinville will both be playing Staunton the next time they take the pitch. The Piasa Birds will host the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Cavaliers will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
