Soccer Game Preview: Mira Monte vs. Del Oro

The Mira Monte Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Del Oro Suns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mira Monte is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

Mira Monte's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They skirted past South 1-0. Jose Oviedo had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Lions.

Meanwhile, Del Oro's game on Wednesday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Foothill. While losing is never fun, the Suns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 817th, while the Trojans are ranked 270th).

Mira Monte pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those five contests. As for Del Oro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5-5.

Everything went Mira Monte's way against Del Oro in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Mira Monte made off with a 6-2 victory. Will Mira Monte repeat their success, or does Del Oro have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
