Soccer Game Preview: Deer Park vs. Mt. Healthy

The Deer Park Wildcats will challenge the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Deer Park fell victim to Indian Hill and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Braves. Deer Park have struggled against Indian Hill recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Mt. Healthy also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Roger Bacon on Tuesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Mt. Healthy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Roger Bacon are ranked 280th).

Mt. Healthy's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Deer Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10-1.

Everything went Deer Park's way against Mt. Healthy when the teams last played back in August of 2024, as Deer Park made off with a 5-2 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Owls turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
