The Port Charlotte Pirates will square off against the Naples Golden Eagles at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Naples will  challenge  a team with plenty of momentum: Port Charlotte extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Pirates really took it to Charlotte for the full four quarters, racking up  a  35-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won five matchups by 28  points or more  so far this season.

 Logan Flaherty produced another solid  performance rushing for 74 yards and a pair of  scores, while also throwing for 145 yards and one  touchdown. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in November of 2024.
 Port Charlotte's run defense was locked in: Charlotte could only muster 2.3 yards per carry. The team can thank  Kadyn Palmer for the heroic effort on defense: he. Port Charlotte didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged six.
 Port Charlotte didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over.  Bruce Blanden picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick  into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Naples was not the first on the board  on Friday, but they got there more often. They strolled past Lely with  points to spare, taking the game  38-24.
 Port Charlotte better keep an eye on  Alijah Molina. He was instrumental in Naples' win, rushing for 102 yards and two  TDs, while also throwing for 56 yards and one  touchdown. Another player making a difference was  Jamar Jerome, who rushed for 66 yards and a pair of  scores.
 Port Charlotte's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Naples, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-1.
Friday's   contest might be decided on the ground. Port Charlotte has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 169.9  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Naples struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 236.9  rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's   game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
 Port Charlotte came up short against Naples in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, falling  17-10. Can the Pirates avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
